First Time Eating Cereal

Carly had her 4 month checkup on Monday. She weighs 14lb 14oz, is 26in long, and the doctor said we can start cereal!

Wamplers Lake

Yesterday Carly went swimming in Wamplers Lake. Carly, Daddy, and Mommy met up with Aunt Dee, Granny, Nancy, and a few cousins.

This past week Carly experienced the lake for the first time. She loved going swimming with daddy and she has been found to be a big fan of the water!

First Time Swimming!!!

Carly had her first swimming experience today. We went to Aunt Lu's house today and went swimming with her, Makayla, and Devin. Carly loved going swimming. She even fell asleep in mommy's arms.

Today Carly fit into a 12 month outfit and she's only 3 and a half months old!

A new way of cleaning...

Carly had a new way of getting clean today. Today was Carly's first shower. She took a shower with her daddy and she really enjoyed it. Unfortunately there are no pictures for this great and fun occasion.

Happy 4th of July

Carly is SO cute! These days Carly enjoys sticking things into her mouth, including her hands, Geffie the Giraffe's ear, blankets and burp cloths if they get too close. Last night Carly went for her first forward facing walk in the Baby Bjorn. She enjoyed it and seeing the world from a new perspective. Carly is starting to enjoy tummy time more and is learning to lift her big head and get stronger neck muscles. Today is Carly's first 4th of July. She is celebrating the festivities by currently taking a nap... that's how excited she is.

Yard Sale Finds

Carly went to some yard sales today and Christy picked out some clothes
for her. When we got home Carly put on a fashion show. Here's 2

2 Month Checkup

At Carly's 2 month checkup she weighed 11 lbs 13.5 oz and was 24.5 inches long. She had 4 shots and she cried for about 5 minutes. During the night she's sleeping about 8 hours and wakes up usually no more than once a night. The last three nights she's slept at least 8 hours a night and didn't wake up at all! Right now Carly likes to be snuggled in the carrier, lay on her back while looking at herself in mirrors, and she loves kisses on her tummy.

Who said sleep?

Carly had a good sleep the other night, but I can't say the same for last night. She didn't go to bed until about 3am. She did, however, sleep a lot during the day today.

With the weather being 70 today daddy, mommy, and Carly all went for a walk around Nanna and Pop's place. Thank goodness for spring time... until tomorrow's 40's teperature :-(

Sleep!!!

Last night Carly let mommy and daddy sleep a lot! Carly only woke up twice to eat, and one of those times mommy woke her up because it was 4 hours since her last feeding. We don't want to get too excited, but lets hope this is a taste of nights to come!

70 degrees!

We couldn't have asked for more beautiful weather today. Carly, Mommy, and Daddy all went for a walk after lunch. Carly got to use her jogging stroller today, but we didn't jog. Sorry... Carly's calling.

5 Days Old

Today is Carly's 5 day old birthday. To celebrate, Granny and Poppy brought over a BIRTHday cake on Friday night. Christy, as I type, is feeding Carly (she wanted me to tell you all). Yesterday we took Carly on her first walk. We went to Auntie Kym's house so the two could meet. Auntie Kym loved Carly so much that Auntie Kym wanted to finish our walk (back to our house) with us.


Today we went for another walk, a much longer walk, to enjoy the best weekend of weather that Michigan has seen in a long time. Yesterday and today it has been 60 degrees! After our walk, Daddy and Carly took a long nap together on in the big chair. Well, Carly is done eating, so I have to go check for a dirty diaper. Later tonight, Unkie Joel is coming over with Auntie Kym so her can meet Carly and snuggle her!

Day 2...

Yes that's right! Day number two! Carly Jo Whitelaw was born yesterday at 8:40am weighing 8lb 7oz and measuring 22 inches long. Early this morning she was spitting up green stuff that took her to the NICU for the whole day. She is sleeping there over night and tomorrow we hope she can be discharged with Christy. After all of her testing today she was fine and the docs found nothing! So after keeping her under observations for the day they will let her go if nothing bad happens! So mom is sleeping as I type, thanks to free WiFi, and I'm about to get some rest. We all know as soon as Carly comes home that sleep will be vary rare!

3 weeks to go!

If Christy is "average" then she has 3 weeks to go until the baby comes. Yesterday we went to her doctor and found that the baby is still higher up and that Christy has not dilated yet. The doctor told us that she doesn't see the baby coming out within the next week. So no baby yet :-( We'll keep you all posted!

Who needs a doctor?!

In ten minutes we are going to meet a pediatrician in Saline. This is one of the last major things we have to do before the baby comes!

p.s.
We are pretty much sure that the baby's name, if a boy, will be Jason Phillip. We are still discussing a girl name.

Big Baby!!!

So Christy had another ultrasound on Wednesday and the baby is BIG!!! The baby weighs 3lbs 11oz and I think I was told that is close to a half a pound to a pound larger than the baby should be at this point. Christy's due date is March, 29 but the ultrasound tech said the due sate should be March, 22. So this means that the baby will be early, or the baby will be a big baby! But the best news of all is that the baby is healthy and everything is going well.
